Clint Eastwood: Icon of macho movie stars perhaps, living legend definitely. Eastwood has earned his place in the international cinema. Clint was born in San Francisco, the son of I still worker. He dropped out of Los Angeles College where he was attempting to earn a business degree. He worked in B films such as Francis in the Navy and Tarantula both in 1955. Clint Eastwood got his first breakthrough in the TV series Rawhide in 1959 as Rowdy Yates. It was this TV series that made him a household name.

Things were to get even bigger and better in 1964 with a Fistful of Dollars and A Few Dollars More in 1965. In the second sequel to A Fistful of Dollars he found one of his trademark roles, The Good The bad and The ugly was that seguel. The Good The Bad and The Ugly became a big hit and propelled Clint Eastwood to international stardom. There were more great movies after that like Kelly's Heroes in 1970. Where Eagles Dare found Clint playing second fiddle to Richard Burton but I'm sure 800,000 dollars made it bearable. That classic World War II movie was made in 1968. Paint Your Wagon in 1969 and Cogan's bluff were to follow.

In 1971 Clint Stared and Play Misty for Me, The Beguiled and his biggest movie in 1971 Dirty Harry. In Dirty Harry he played the loose cannon cop which became the signature role for him. There were many more quality films in the sixties and seventies such as High Plains Drifter 1973, Joe Kidd 1972, and Hang'Em High 1968. There were also other well known movies like Magnum Force, The Enforcer and perhaps the quintessential western The Outlaw Josey Wales. Toward the late 70's Eastwood found more work with such movies like the comedy Every Which Way But Loose in 1978 and the thriller Escape from Alcatraz in 1979 as but it seemed making great films had eluded him with these movies. As the early eighties when on there was half the top man in 1982 and fire fox in 1982. The fourth sequel to dirty Harry sudden impact in 1983 was the movie that put him back on top. There were more movies in the1980s such as Tightrope 1984, City Heat 1984, The Dead Pool 1988, and Pink Cadillac 1989.

Clint Eastwood was not finished yet, he came back with his first western in years in 1992 called Unforgiven which garnered him a nomination for best actor and an Oscar for director. Then came In The Line of Fire in 1993 where he played a secret service agent this was followed by A Perfect World also in 1993, a drama which was poorly received. Then there was The Bridges of Madison County in 1995 another poorly receive movie, True Crimes 1999 and Blood Work 2002 were badly received also but in 2000 Space Cowboy was well received.

Clint Eastwood is aging but I hope he has a few more blockbusters in store for us before he quits the movie biz
My favorite Clint Eastwood movies have always been his westerns stories i have heard say he could and did do a lot of the Fast Draw scenes himself.
